For the few that may indeed check this blog, you will notice it has vanished or at least the posts have. Why? A few days ago when I posted comments on various TH columns my name was no longer underlined meaning I did not have a blog. Sure enough it had gone. I wrote the moderator and asked if it had been deleted and if so, why? My blog has never violated any of the TOS posted by TH, did not engaged in “egregious offenses” or make “a mockery of TH standards” or insult “our authors beyond reasonability.” He never responded which is very telling.
I was never sent any communication warning me that my blog was in danger of becoming persona non grata. Did some official from the PRC complain about the name Taiwan Republic? Did some non-PRC official working as an agent for them do the same like Colin Powell or James A. Baker did last year? Or has their brilliant coding wizards once again screwed up?
Now TH has the right to purge any blog or post they wish. I am not challenging their right to do so. But if they did delete my blog which didn’t violate any of their standards, then that is censorship and then TH is becoming no better than Democratic Underground or Free Republic. And if the bowed to Chinese pressure that is even worse. Because then TH is not only censors, but cowards too.
I have recreated the blog as you can see and we shall see if it vanishes too.
